Stuart Libicki has fought tirelessly for private and public employee benefits and labor rights against corporations that have mistreated their employees and retirees. He is now semi-retired but continues to assist in representing our clients.
Mr. Libicki has handled a wide array of litigation and appellate work in the areas of pension/fiduciary law and labor relations. He was sole plaintiffs' counsel in the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union v. Murdock case, which was successfully settled after two weeks of trial. More recently, Mr. Libicki has successfully litigated wage and hour class actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the California Labor Code against employers in both the public and private sectors and fraudulent conveyance actions in both state and federal court against corporate officers and directors. Mr. Libicki has handled numerous collection actions for employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis representing pension funds in the collection of withdrawal liability, recovering six and seven figure amounts by settlement and judgment. Additionally, Mr. Libicki has been engaged in a wide variety of real estate and commercial transactional and litigation matters and insurance coverage opinions and resulting litigation where coverage has been improperly denied.
