Michael D. Four, a graduate of Loyola Law School, represented clients in hundreds of arbitrations and administrative hearings, many involving complex issues affecting thousands of workers, as well as in state and federal court, including representing unions as both debtors and creditors in Bankruptcy Court. In 2003, Mr. Four was the lead counsel for several United Food and Commercial Workers Local Unions in litigation relating to the strike against retail food employers in Southern California. Mr. Four has extensive experience conducting independent workplace investigations of alleged employee misconduct, including discrimination and harassment, and negotiates initial employment contracts as well as severance packages for professional and executive employees.
He represented numerous unions in dealing with Department of Labor investigations and challenges to union elections and has counseled unions regarding their obligations under the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act and related matters. Mr. Four is a member of the Executive Committee of the LACBA Labor and Employment Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Executive Committee of the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee. Mr. Four was named a “Superlawyer” by Los Angeles Magazine and is a Fellow in The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, Inc. Mr. Four is also listed in the publication The Best Lawyers In America and was named best union-side labor lawyer in Southern California for 2018.
